Coventry City Mission is a registered Christian Charity established in 1983.
Initially based in a flat above a shop in Whitely the beginnings might have been small, but the vision was great. In 1984 it was decided to focus on Wood End. In 1987 Neville Carpmail became CCM's first full time staff member. He continued as Director until 2008
In 1988 CCM had the opportunity to move into one room of the Deedmore Christian Centre in Wood End. It rapidly took over the whole building and in the next ten years refurbished it and established a centre for the Wood End community.
For over 30 years CCM, through its staff and voliunteers, has continued to serve the community through a range of projects.
The quality of this work was recognised in 2014 when CCM was awarded the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, the equivalent of an MBE for an organisation.
